The global pandemic declared by the World Health Organization in March 2020 in response to the COVID-19 virus, which spread rapidly around the world, generated serious risks to the economy. In particular, the implementation of a strict quarantine regime and restrictions on the free movement of people, business activities, and working together have had negative impacts on all sectors of the economy. In this context, the study of the impact on agriculture, which plays an important role in terms of food security and proper nutrition in every country, is of particular interest.
Taking into account these risks and concerns, the BRI expert group interviewed stakeholders to investigate the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the agricultural sector in Azerbaijan.
